Technical SCUBA Classes

Are you looking to go deeper, farther and stay longer? Then you have come to the right place. Technical dive training takes up where recreational training leaves off. Here you will find training to go deeper than 130, stay longer than the NDLs allow and to change up your breathing mix even more.

Intro to Tech

Intro to Tech is just that, it is an introduction to the world of Technical diving. This class is designed for the diver interested in getting their feet wet, as it were. During this course the diver will be introduced to technical gear configurations, advanced diving skills involving buoyancy, trim and multitasking, gas planning, and simulated decompression diving skills. It is required that the diver hold both Advanced and Nitrox certifications prior to taking this course. Good physical fitness is also required as technical equipment gets heavy quickly. There are special equipment requirements for this course.

Decompression Techniques, Advanced Nitrox, and Hyperoxic Helium

This is the first tri-fecta in your Technical Diver training. Actually three certifications all run as one course. During your training you will learn the necessary skills to safely calculate decompression profiles, as well as how to actually dive them. You will learn to calculate proper gas mixes including basic Hyperoxic Helium for dives to 150 feet and the necessary Nitrox mixes to decompress from such a dive. Once completed you will be certified to dive to 150 feet, use mixes with no more than 17% helium, and dive Nitrox mixes from 41%-99% as well as 100% Oxygen.

Trimix

Trimix provides the training necessary to use helium containing breathing mixes to a maximum depth of 200 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18% oxygen.

Advanced Trimix

Picking up where the Trimix course left off this course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox and/or Oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 330 feet.
