Recreational SCUBA Checklist
Any time you go diving, one of the basic things you need to do is pack your gear. A checklist can help you ensure that you don’t forget anything. Ask around and most of the divers you meet will have stories of the time they forgot part of their gear. At best it is embarrassing, but it can ruin the entire trip. Here is a basic checklist you can use to get yourself started.
Necessary SCUBA Diving Items
- Exposure Suit (Wetsuit or Drysuit)
- Boots, Gloves, Hood
- Mask, Snorkel, Fins
- BCD
- Regulator System
- Weights
- Tanks
- Computer
Required for Advanced Class
- Compass
- Cutting Tool (Dive Knife, Line Cutter, Shears, etc.)
- Dive Lights (Primary, Backup, Marker)
- Slate or Wetnotes
- SMB with Spool or Reel
- Signaling Device (Whistle, Dive Alert, etc.)
Nice to have SCUBA Diving Items
- Towels
- Save-A-Dive Kit
- Dive Bag
- Warm Dry Clothing (Hat, Jacket, Gloves)
- Lunch
- Hair Ties (If You Have Hair)
